Chip Reese overleden
Dinsdag 4 december heeft de legendarische pokerspeler David 'Chip' Reese de pokerwereld voorgoed verlaten. Hij overleed op 57-jarige leeftijd aan een longontsteking. Chip was een legende van "The Big Game" en was vooral "The poker player's player" tot dat hij in 2006 ook bij het grote publiek bekendheid verwierf door het eerste 50k H.O.R.S.E. Event van de WSOP te winnen na een legendarische heads-up strijd met Andy Bloch.

Boris Becker wordt lid van Team PokerStars
Pokerstars hoort al bij de top drie van grootste pokersites, maar ze lijken nu echt wel een gooi te doen naar de eerste plek. Boris Becker, een tennislegende die vooral in Duitsland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk nog razend populair is, wordt lid van Team Pokerstars. Hij krijgt daar het gezelschap van oa Daniel Negreanu en Barry Greenstein. Becker zegt dat hij al veel poker speelde tijdens zijn tenniscarrière maar dat hij het nu echt serieus wil aanpakken, hij toont veel ambitie want hij zal al zeker meedoen aan de EPT Events in Dortmund en in Monte Carlo.

Poker for Charity
Op 18 november vindt in het Grand Casino Brussel de finale
plaats van Poker 4 Charity 2007. Tijdens dit groots
opgezette poker toernooi spelen 10 teams ten behoeve van
de goede doelen Sensoa, Moeders voor Moeders,
Streekfonds een hart voor Limburg, Veeweyde, Dreamcatcher,
Offrez-moi la lune, Scale Dogs, Down Syndroom Vlaanderen,
FOS Socialistische Solidariteit en Similes.
Dit evenement tracht naast het ondersteunen van deze
goede doelen het pokerspel op een positieve
manier onder de aandacht te brengen.
Bijdragen voor de goede doelen worden verzameld door middel van
sponsoring en ludieke acties. Vanaf 2 november 20u00 worden via
ebay onder andere een karting sessie met standup comedian
Youssef, een paintballsessie met de Fixkes,
attributen van Wim Helsen, een speciaal gemaakt recept van Jeroen
Meus en gesigneerde pokerspelen van pokerster Marcel Luske geveild.

De finale wordt op 18 november afgesloten met een slotshow die
zal worden opgeluisterd door comedians Bert Gabriëls,

Concept van de week: Fundamental Theorem of Poker
"Elke keer als je je hand speelt zoals je het zou gedaan hebben als je de holecards van je tegenstander zou kunnen zien, win je. Elke keer als je je hand anders speelt dan als je de holecards van je tegenstander had kunnen zien, verlies je. Elke keer als je tegenstander zijn speelt zoals hij zou gedaan hebben als hij jou holecards zou kennen, verlies je. Elke keer als je tegenstander zijn hand anders speelt dan als hij je holecards had kunnen zien, win je."
Dit is het Fundamenteel Theorema van poker, zoals eerst neergelegd door Sklansky. Hij doelt hiermee op het feit dat elke beslissing die je neemt in poker, een bepaalde verwachte waarde heeft (EV of Expected Value)(als je bv. met AA all-in gaat tegen KK heb je een EV van 80% van de inzet van je tegenstander). De juiste beslissing is steeds die met de hoogste EV. Die EV kan je nooit 100% correct weten tenzij je de kaarten van de tegenstander kan zien. In poker is het dan ook de bedoeling alle mogelijke info over de situatie te verzamelen (actie op vorige straten, reads, gegevens over de tegenstander,...) om zo een beslissing te nemen die zo dicht mogelijk ligt bij de maximale EV.

1. Make a pokerstrategy account and receive 50$+100$ on PartyPoker.
Use this link to make an account on the pokerstrategy site. You'll have to pass their quiz (which is quite easy, if ur having questions post them here). Wait a few days and you can start grinding out the bonus.
2. Learn the short stack strategy and grind out the bonus.
I strongly recommend (defenitely for the pokernewbies) to use the short stack strategy that they explain in their strategy section. With some patience you'll clear the bonus quite easily.
3. Use the learned strategy to clear some other bonusses.
Use this link to receive 50$+50$ (every site is good except for Titan Poker, don't make that account because you'll need it later to clear a bonus)
4. Use the pokerstrategy 200% deposit bonus from Titan poker.
Once you have build up a bankroll that's (close to) 600$, withdraw your money to your neteller or moneybookers account and deposit it on Titan using the pokerstrategy bonus. It's very important you use their bonus, this way you'll create a lot of pokerstrategy points, those are necessary for the next step.
5.1 Learn big stack strategy and shorthanded play.

When you're learning the strategy you'll notice that they recommend pokertracker as a tool you can't miss to be a succesfull player online. Pokerstrategy will offer you this software for free if you've collected enough strategy points. You can grind out some of their other bonusses to collect more points if they're needed.
6. Start playing bss 6max on Titan or PartyPoker.
These are by far the weakest sites on the net. Use your advantage, exploit the fish and enjoy your success as a winning player!
This may all seem like a lot of work, but if you're patient (which is necessary for pokersucces) and dedicated you'll have a 1K+ bankroll in a month without risking one penny!
